Do I have to believe in Reiki for it to work?

No, you neither have to believe in Reiki or understand how it works to benefit from a Reiki session. You only have to want to be helped and Reiki will flow to wherever it is needed.

Can I only book Reiki Distance Healing for myself?

No, Reiki distance healing sessions can be booked for yourself, your partner, your family, your loved ones or friends. Just make sure that we have their permission to send Reiki before we schedule an appointment.

How often should I receive Reiki?

While it is possible that one Reiki session can make a difference for your health, know that most imbalances were not created overnight. Healing at the source of an issue will take time. If you have a specific issue you wish to address on a deeper level, you may want to consider arranging a series of treatments.

The effects of Reiki build up cumulatively and that helps you to produce long-term beneficial changes. But in the end it really depends on you as you ultimately decide what is best for you.

Are there any side effects from a Reiki treatment?

Reiki is a safe and gentle healing method. Most of the time a person will feel relaxed and uplifted by a Reiki treatment. However, sometimes a person will have what is called a healing crisis because Reiki helps to remove toxins from the body.

During a healing crisis you may face one or more of the following symptoms: flu-like symptoms, headache, sore throat, coughing, aching joints and muscles, tingling sensations, nausea, and diarrhoea. Temporary changes may also take place in your sleep habits such as needing to sleep more often and longer or being wide awake when you normally sleep. Uncomfortable emotions and thought patterns may come into your consciousness. Simply allow yourself to observe and experience them without getting too caught up in them. Acknowledge the old emotions and thoughts as they pass through you as how you once felt, and then let them go.

All of the uncomfortable experiences that accompany a healing crisis are commonplace and are not usually cause for worry or concern. They naturally result from the process of bringing the flow of Reiki into the energy system. They are nature’s way of purifying body, mind, emotions, and the soul. Rather than being symptoms of illness, they can be viewed as signs of true healing in progress. It is also important to note that the symptoms of a healing crisis are not caused by Reiki; rather, the Reiki energy helps bringing awareness and healing to those imbalances that are already active within you.

What if I’m seeing a Physician, Psychologist etc.?

Reiki is a wonderful complementary therapy. It works well in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic treatments and does not interfere with medication.

Can Reiki heal me?

Reiki is not a magical cure and is not a substitute for professional, medical care. Healing is a process of becoming healthy or whole again, whereas a cure is a remedy that alleviates symptoms.

If you find yourself on a very deep healing journey, you need more than a remedy. It requires courageous introspection and the sincere longing to understand the disharmony holistically. This means contemplating imbalances that exist beyond the physical body and developing awareness of possible emotional and mental causes of dis-ease. For many, spiritual and psychological guidance becomes necessary for true healing.

Experiencing Reiki opens a person up to their inner reality. Many patients report that after a Reiki treatment they feel more aware of themselves on a deeper level. There is a sense of feeling connected to a greater purpose, which brings peace and hope.

Reiki may or may not be all that is needed, but it helps tremendously, enhancing emotional and mental well-being during the most challenging of times. On a more physical level, Reiki encourages a person towards balance by activating the natural self-healing response. This makes the body stronger.

Reiki may not always act as a cure, but it always offers incredible assistance for someone on a difficult healing journey. It is indeed a powerful tool to support the overall well-being of us.

What is Chakra balancing?

Chakra balancing clears and energises the seven major chakras of your body. The Sanskrit word ‘chakra’ literally means wheel and refers to energy centres throughout the body.

An imbalance in one or more of your chakras will lead to a lack of energy in one or more areas of your life. You feel out of balance, dissatisfied with life, emotionally exhausted and not flowing with life.

A Reiki session helps you to feel better by bringing you into greater balance in all areas of your life. For people with deeper traumas and issues it is a wonderful complementary therapy to a therapeutic process.

How does a distant Reiki session work?

You can schedule a 30 minutes or 1 hour distant Reiki session online. Setting aside a specific time for the treatment enables you to be in a more receptive state, such as lying down and playing some relaxing music during the session.

I prepare for the session the same way I do an in-person treatment. At the appointed time, I focus on you and direct the Reiki energy to positions on your body similar to the way I do in a hands-on treatment. Afterwards I send you a message and share with you what I’ve experienced during the session.

How do I prepare for a distant Reiki session?

Find a comfortable place to lie down where you won’t be disturbed. If you like you can create a healing space for yourself by lighting a candle, burning an incense, and/or playing relaxing music. And don’t forget to switch off your phone.

What happens after a distant Reiki session?

After a session you will feel relaxed, joyful and energized. You will feel recharged and the energy can flow freely through your body again.

At the end of the session take a few minutes or longer if you like to integrate everything from the session. Take a few deep breaths and sit up slowly. Listen to your body and rest if you feel like that. Just be gentle with yourself. And don’t forget to drink plenty of water.
